Lake Park is a small town in southeastern Lowndes County, about 13 miles southeast of Valdosta on U.S. 41 and a few miles from the Florida line. It was laid out in 1889 along the Georgia Southern and Florida Railway and renamed in 1890 for the many natural lakes around it. Ocean Pond and Long Pond are inside the city limits, and the community of Twin Lakes borders the town to the northwest. About 932 people lived in Lake Park in 2020.
